An Eagles player hesitated to answer if he would be going to the team's celebration at the White House Monday.

The Eagles are scheduled to meet President Donald Trump at the White House Monday at 4 p.m. to celebrate their Super Bowl LIX championship, but it’s unclear whether one of their star players will attend.

Quarterback Jalen Hurts attended the Time 100 gala in New York City Thursday after being named one of the publication’s 100 most influential people in the world. When asked by a red-carpet reporter whether he would join teammates in Washington, D.C.

, for the ceremony, Hurts hesitated. “Ummm,” Hurts said before looking around. He remained quiet and did not answer the question, though he had a slight smirk before walking away.

If Hurts doesn’t attend, his absence would be notable and likely become a talking point after the event, potentially leading to questions about his decision. Monday will mark the first time the team will visit the White House to celebrate a Super Bowl win. The team did not go in 2018 after Trump canceled the event when he learned several players planned to skip it.

In a March 2025 interview with Outkick , Trump said he was looking forward to meeting with the Eagles. During the Annual League Meeting held March 25, Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie said the organization welcomed the invitation. “We just felt this is a time-honored tradition, being invited by the White House,” Lurie said.

“There was no reticence whatsoever. To be celebrated at the White House is a good thing.” NJ Advance Media’s Bob Brookover contributed to this report.
