Oyo state governor, Seyi Makinde, Sunday, urged Christians across the country to intercede for Nigeria and its leaders during the Easter celebration In his message to felicitate with Christians on this year’s Easter celebration, Governor Makinde pointed out that there is the need for Christians in and across the country to continue to pray for their country and its leaders. The governor added that the Christians should use the auspicious occasion of the Easter celebration which marks the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ for the much needed prayers for Nigeria. Governor Makinde added that the Christian faithful should imbibe the lessons inherent in Christ’s sacrificial death on the cross and his resurrection.
“I exhort my Christian brethren to use this occasion to intercede for our country and its leaders across board. I also want to charge them to imbibe and put into practice these amazing lessons learnt from this auspicious occasion. “I felicitate with the Christian faithful across Oyo state and the country on witnessing the Easter festivities.
In Christ’s death and resurrection, we found amazing lessons of love, sacrifice and hope for humanity. We can also learn the importance of prayers and forgiveness.”.
