Eat Up Drive In Closed for Foreseeable Future

The restaurant closed after the Phoenix Fire Department responded to a working fire in the attic on April 27

Eat Up Drive In, a family-owned, fast-casual restaurant located at 4001 E Indian School Road in Phoenix’s Arcadia neighborhood, has temporarily closed following a fire within the building.The restaurant, owned and operated by Caitlin and Ryan Jocque of Jocque Concepts, closed after the Phoenix Fire Department responded to a working fire in the attic just after 7 p.m.

on April 27, according to AZ Central. Investigators were on the scene to determine the location and cause of the fire. A video posted on Reddit that same evening showed flames surging from behind the restaurant’s sign and plumes of dark smoke rising into the air.



On April 28, the restaurant shared a statement on Instagram announcing that everyone was safe. However, it confirmed the restaurant will remain closed for the foreseeable future.Eat Up Drive In in Arcadia offered a menu that combines classic comfort food with a modern twist.

Signature items include the Main Chick sandwich, featuring crispy chicken breast with house slaw, Havarti cheese, and pickles on a brioche bun, and the Hot Chick sandwich, which adds a spicy kick to the crispy chicken. The menu also features wood-grilled options, such as the cheeseburger and flat iron steak, as well as hearty sides like mac ‘n’ cheese and roasted broccoli. Family-style meals are available, designed to serve up to four people and include a main dish and two sides.

The restaurant’s pet-friendly patio provided a comfortable outdoor dining option for guests with pets. ​Jocque Concepts is a Phoenix-based hospitality group known for creating distinctive dining experiences throughout the Valley. Their portfolio includes The Montauk, a coastal-inspired eatery in Old Town Scottsdale; Diego Pops, offering a modern take on Mexican cuisine; and The Hot Chick, a 21-and-over fried chicken and game bar.

The group has also launched Pretty Please Lounge, The Lighthouse Cafe, and American Junkie. In early 2025, they introduced Kill Club, a vintage-themed lounge in Scottsdale’s Entertainment District. Additionally, they are developing Jones, a new American restaurant in Old Town Scottsdale, slated to open later this year.
