LAHORE - A high-level delegation from ECO (Economic Cooperation Organization) countries paid a visit to Lahore on Sunday, exploring the city’s rich cultural and historical heritage, including the iconic Shalimar Gardens. The delegation comprising the ambassadors was warmly received by Kamran Lashari, Director General of the Walled City Authority, who gave them a guided tour highlighting the exquisite Mughal architecture and various sections of the gardens. In honor of the delegation, a vibrant cultural show was organized, featuring renowned artists performing traditional dances, regional music, and folk art.
The evening concluded with a spectacular fireworks display that lit up the sky and captivated the guests. Expressing their admiration, the ECO representatives described Shalimar Gardens as a unique blend of Mughal architectural brilliance and natural beauty. Later in the evening, a formal dinner was hosted at the historic Haveli Restaurant in the heart of old Lahore.
Additional Chief Secretary Ahmed Raza Sarwar and Secretary Tourism Fareed Ahmed Tarar warmly welcomed the delegation. The dinner was attended by senior government officials, with emphasis placed on strengthening cultural ties. The guests were also taken on a scenic tour of Lahore Fort, Badshahi Mosque, and Minar-e-Pakistan.
As the sun set, the delegation marveled at the enchanting views and captured memorable moments through photos and selfies. The ECO ambassadors also visited Delhi Gate, the historic Gali Surjan Singh, and the stunning Wazir Khan Mosque. Refreshments were served during the tour, which concluded with a visit to the restored Shahi Hammam.
