Good news for fans of the hit Netflix series Emily in Paris as production announces shoot date.According to an article released by Netflix Tudum, the production for the fifth season of the comedy-drama series starts in May and will take place in Rome.They will come back to Paris to continue the production in the summer from June onwards.
Creator Darren Star told Netflix Tudum, “We're thrilled with the incredible response to this season of Emily in Paris and excited to return for a fifth [season] to continue Emily's adventures in Rome and Paris!”Joining Lily Collins (Emily) for the fifth season are Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu (Sylvie Grateau), Ashley Park (Mindy Chen), Lucas Bravo (Gabriel), Samuel Arnold (Julien), Bruno Gouery (Luc), William Abadie (Antoine Lambert), Lucien Laviscount (Alfie), Thalia Besson (Genevieve), and Eugenio Franceschini (Marcello).Meanwhile, Camille Razat, who played the role of Camille, Gabriel's on-and-off partner and Emily's “frenemy,” is rumored not to return in the series as her name was not present in the announcement.The fifth season of Emily in Paris will tackle Emily's relationship with Marcello, as well as the unanswered questions left at the end of the fourth season.
“I feel like [Emily and Marcello] have a real spark and a real connection and a real romantic connection. A lot of that's going to continue to play out next season,” said Darren Star.Lily Collins is also excited about the storyline that awaits Emily and Marcello.
“Marcello is a whole other adventure that we want for Emily because we ultimately want Emily to be able to have a better work/life balance,” she told Netflix Tudum. “We want to have Emily be able to smile without condition. We want to see her beyond her vacay mode.
