Former host of Big Brother Emma Willis has revealed she had an operation after a hole in her heart was found. The former host of Big Brother was treated at the Royal Brompton Hospital in London and said her husband, Busted singer Matt Willis, “never left my side” after she received keyhole heart surgery. On Wednesday (April 23), Emma shared a selection of photos to her Instagram, including one of her in a hospital bed with wires attached to her chest.
The 49-year-old described her recently discovered health issue as “bonkers” after being "blissfully unaware". “From investigations last year, to diagnosis and then surgery, they were absolutely incredible. As was @mattjwillis who never left my side. “Turns out, I’ve been pottering around for 48 years blissfully unaware I had a hole in my heart isn’t it bonkers what’s happening in our bodies that we have no idea about.
.. “What blows my mind even more is the wonders of modern medicine, and the spectacular people that save, fix and help us every single day.
” Emma, who is also known for hosting The Voice UK, also thanked her surgeon, Dr Ee Ling Heng, who “was recommended as ‘a spectacular pair of hands’”. She hailed the medical professional as “one in a trillion”. Fans and celebrity friends have since commented with well wishes underneath her Instagram post, as Giovanna Fletcher, wife of McFly’s Tom Fletcher and winner of I’m a Celebrity 2020, said: “Love you treacle!!! Strongest of hearts - even when that hole was there!! Imagine the strength of your heart now these legends have worked on it!!!
