Emmerdale viewers are worried that a beloved character's time in the Dales may be drawing to a tragic close. Spoilers suggest that village residents will turn against local rogue Joe Tate following a series of calamitous incidents for which he is solely responsible. The character, portrayed by Ned Porteous, made his return to the Yorkshire Dales on Christmas Eve last year and has been at the heart of the drama ever since.
Joe came back to the village suffering from chronic kidney disease and was hell-bent on secretly securing a kidney transplant. He targeted those closest to him, initially drugging his half-brother Noah Dingle, resulting in the teenager being rushed to a private hospital. Fans speculated this was an attempt to harvest his kidney, although the incident led to a fatal limo crash as the driver swerved to avoid Noah in the road.
Joe eventually chose to steal his uncle Caleb's kidney. With the help of a shady doctor, they confirmed he was a match by unlawfully acquiring a sample of his blood, reports the Liverpool Echo . After orchestrating a stabbing, Caleb was taken to a clinic where his kidney was removed and transplanted into Joe.
So, it's hardly surprising that Joe has amassed a host of new adversaries in the village ahead of a dramatic storyline set to unravel. Next week, Joe's secrets are due to be unveiled, as a surprise party at Home Farm will expose all his lies and deception. Emmerdale fans are on tenterhooks after actor Ned Porteous, known for his role as Joe Tate, posted a series of new head shots on Instagram .

The actor's move has sparked concern among viewers who are all too aware that new head shots could signal an actor's departure from their current gig, cueing speculation that he might be exiting the soap. One worried fan commented: "Always makes me nervous when you see new snaps ..
