Events announced to celebrate VE Day in Poole

Residents are invited to attend to mark the day and remember Poole's role in the end of the Second World War.

The Royal British Legion (RBL) Poole branch and the Royal Tank Regiment Association (RTRA) will hold a wreath-laying event at the war memorial in Poole Park at 10.30am on Thursday, May 8. Residents are invited to attend to mark the day and remember Poole's role in the end of the Second World War.

Later in the day, at 7pm, Parkstone Army Cadets will host a VE Day service at Buckland Road Church, Parkstone. The RBL club in Winton and Moordown has planned an evening of celebration on Saturday, May 10, starting at 8pm. This will include flag-waving and live entertainment by The Fifinellas.
