Police say they have been called to numerous reports of young people gathering in abandoned buildings, at risk to themselves. The trend also potentially endangered emergency responders if anyone was injured, officers said. Abandoned buildings are fraught with hazards, from unstable structures and shattered glass to health threats like black mould and there is also the risk of injuries when entering or exiting these premises, said police.
Parents have been urged to talk to their children about the dangers of urban exploring as well as the fact that it could constitute an offence. Follow BBC Guernsey on X and Facebook . Send your story ideas to channel.
