Former Pakistan cricketer Shahid Afridi had made a bizarre claim after terrorist killed 26 civilians in Kashmir's Pahalgam last week. Former Pakistan cricketer Danish Kaneria has slammed Shahid Afridi after the latter’s comments on the terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam last week. A clip of Afridi making bizarre claims on the attack that left 26 civilians dead have been doing the rounds on social media.
Afridi raised questions over the attack while making unfounded claims. Criticising Afridi for his extremist views, Kaneria claimed the former Pakistan captain tried to persuade him to convert to Islam besides declining to share a meal. “He has consistently aligned himself with extremist views.
In my opinion, he should not be given a platform on Indian television or within the country. Additionally, he tried to persuade me to convert to Islam and declined to share a meal with me, which I found deeply disrespectful," Kaneria posted on X (formerly Twitter). Earlier, in an interview with Pakistani media, Afridi had demanded proof of his country’s involvement in the Pahalgam terrorist attack while questioning Indian army.
“ Patakha phat jaata hai wahaa par, Pakistan ne kiya. Tum logo ki 8 lakh ki fauj hai Kashmir mein aur ye ho gaya. Iska matlab nalayak ho, nikamme ho na tum log ki security nahi de sake logo ko (Even if a cracker bursts in India, they blame it on Pakistan.
You have an 8 lakh-strong army in Kashmir, yet this happened. This means you are useless for not being able to provide security to people)," Afridi said on Samaa TV . Meanwhile, in the aftermath of the attack, the Indian government has banned a host of Pakistan YouTube channels for “disseminating provocative and communally sensitive content, false and misleading narratives and misinformation against India, its Army and security agencies".
Among the channels that have been banned include former Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Akhtar’s 100mph , Basit Ali’s BasitAliShow among others..
