Rapists who preyed on victims across Coventry and the West Midlands have been brought to justice. Survivors will have to live with the enduring scars of being abused but can begin to move on with their lives knowing their attackers will spend years in jail. Evil Farnaz Farabi from Coventry was among the individuals recently jailed.
He subjected a vulnerable woman to a series of 'sickening' attacks, leaving her with life-changing injuries. Another perverted sex offender who will spend years behind bars is 20-year-old Regan Mann from Brownhills. He pleaded guilty to abducting and raping a young girl he had groomed on Snapchat .

Many have also been placed on the Sex Offenders Register. CoventryLive has compiled the Coventry and West Midlands rapists who have recently been jailed.
Sentences handed down range from nine years to as long as 24 years. Depraved Simon Tyler , from Kenilworth , was locked up for nine years after raping and sexually assaulting a young girl in Coventry . He faced justice more than 10 years after the abuse happened when his victim bravely came forward.
Police arrested 38-year-old Tyler in 2022. He was jailed for nine years and has also been placed on the Sex Offenders Register. Evil Ogochukwu Diayi, from Birmingham , was found guilty of raping a teenage girl and sentenced to 16 years in jail.
DC Amelia Rose, from West Midlands Police , described the abuse the victim suffered as 'awful.' Police received an anonymous call about a girl being sexually abused in October 2023. Officers carried out extensive enquiries and identified 38-year-old Diayi.
He was arrested and later charged with rape, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, threats to kill and sexual activity with a child. He denied all of the charges but was found guilty and sentenced to 16 years in jail at Birmingham Crown Court . Predator Michael O'Meara , from Coventry , raped a woman in the city 35 years ago and was finally brought to justice in December 2024.
He was arrested last year and pleaded guilty to the rape, which happened on Silver Street in July 1989. As the victim walked down Silver Street looking for a taxi, O'Meara raped her at knifepoint, as previously reported by CoventryLive . Investigations were carried out at the time, but no suspect was identified.
Forensics gathered at the time of the attack were re-examined and, due to significant advances in technology, were linked to O'Meara, who had previous convictions for sexual assault dating back to the 1990s. He was charged and jailed for 12 years at Warwick Crown Court . Violent Farnaz Farabi subjected a vulnerable woman to a series of 'sickening' attacks, leaving her with life-changing injuries.
He raped the woman, hit her with a hammer and poured boiling water over her body in what PC Ellis Burbidge, from West Midlands Police , described as '18 months of torture.' Farabi, of Jasmine Grove, Coventry , initially denied committing any offences but eventually pleaded guilty to rape and wounding offences at Warwick Crown Court . He was jailed for 19 years when he was sentenced in December 2024.
Twisted Clive Penniall, from Walsall, raped a woman multiple times and was sentenced to more than two decades in jail. He was brought to justice in December 2024. Penniall, 55, was found guilty of three charges of rape of a woman over 16 and a domestic assault between 1993 and 2001.
He also pleaded guilty to 11 counts of indecent assault on a boy and four counts of indecency with a child during the same period. Police said his offending came to light when one of his victims reported the abuse he had suffered. Penniall was sentenced to 24 years in jail at Wolverhampton Crown Court.
Perverted Regan Mann groomed, abducted and raped a young girl in Walsall. Mann had contacted the girl, who was under 13, on Snapchat before arranging to meet her in March 2024. She took along a friend of similar age, and Mann took the girls to his home in Brownhills.
He pleaded guilty to two charges of rape and one charge of abduction and was jailed for more than 10 years at Wolverhampton Crown Court. DC Lucy Simpson, from West Midlands Police , said the two young victims were 'very brave' in coming forward. Mann was also handed a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO).
Predator Marcus Newton, from Birmingham , raped a woman and two children and was sentenced to 21 years in jail. His 'vile' offending came to light after three of his victims bravely came forward. West Midlands Police launched an investigation when a man contacted them to say that he had been raped by 27-year-old Newton.
He said the abuse happened when he was a young boy and had 'massively impacted' his mental health, Wolverhampton Crown Court heard. Two more victims also bravely came forward. One was a woman who had been raped by Newton in 2018 and 2019.
Another woman also came forward to say she had been raped by him over a period of four years while she was still a child. Newton was found guilty of two charges of raping a child under 13, one charge of sexually assaulting a child under 13 and three charges of rape and jailed at Wolverhampton Crown Court. He was also placed on the Sex Offenders Register.
