AFTER the opportunity arose to launch two cafes in a short space of time, a mum, caterer, and business owner hasn't looked back since. With a background in the catering and hospitality industry, Lynda Ramsdale had worked at the Spinners Arms pub, on Firs Lane, for 10 years before gaining part time employment at the Top Banana fruit and vegetable stall at Leigh market. Although she wasn't planning on launching a new business, Lynda decided to take on an empty unit once it became available, and launched Cafe Bella with her daughters Natasha and Zoe back in February.

Utilising Lynda's catering experience, where she has provided buffets for birthdays, weddings, and special events, there are also various options for platters and delicious deserts at the Leigh market stall. And following the "great feedback" to Cafe Bella's products and service, Lynda took the opportunity to launch the '6R's Annie' cafe along St Helens Road, between Leigh and Lowton last month, which provides a similar menu for customers to sit in or takeaway.
Some of the options at Cafe Bella (Image: Cafe Bella) Speaking about Cafe Bella, Lynda said: "Things have been really good for us here, and a lot better than we expected. "We started off with just the three of us, but we've increased our staff numbers to seven now because of how busy we have been. "We've been flying since we opened and had great feedback from customers, and I think people enjoy the homemade food and the service we provide.
" Homemade rice boxes have been a particular treat at Cafe Bella (Image: Cafe Bella) While Lynda admitted that there is some concern about Leigh market's temporary closure next year, ahead of its revamp and regeneration , the business owner said that the team will "get [their] heads down and crack on" wherever they are temporarily moved. 6R's Annie's has opened along St Helens Road (Image: 6R's Annie's).
