Road travel in India will become easier. A new GPS-based toll system starts on May 1. The National Highways Authority of India will replace FASTag. The new system uses satellite tracking. Tolls are calculated by distance travelled. Physical toll plazas will disappear. This ensures faster commutes and less congestion. Nitin Gadkari confirmed the rollout.
