Pakistani actor Fawad Khan’s upcoming movie, Abir Gulaal, might take some time to release in India. Twitter users are trolling the film and urging for a ban in India. The film was scheduled to release in theaters on May 9th.
It appears the makers of the movie are likely to postpone its release due to the Pahalgam terror attack, following which Indo-Pak relations have gone from bad to worse. #AbirGulaal & #PrabhasHanu are the noted upcoming films l necessary steps to ensure Abir Gulaal is not released in India. — FILM JOURNALIST VENKAT (@CinemaPosts) April 24, 2025 This Movie should not get a single audience in theaters!! Bycott such actors. Their greed for work and money has always shamed us as nation.
They stand with anything but nation in the name of Art! Bycott #AbirGulaal https://t.co/4orRsKl7QH — Bulla Tweets (@bulla_tweets) April 23, 2025 So far, the ban on its release is voluntary by certain quarters. There is no official ban on the movie, considering that it is essentially an Indian film project with only the lead actor being a Pakistani.
Abir Gulaal is directed by Aarti S and backed by Vivek B. Agarwal. Vaani Kapoor will be seen as the leading lady in the film.
Apart from lead actor Fawad Khan and Vaani Kapoor, Abir Gulaal also features Soni Razdan, Lisa Haydon, Ridhi Dogra, and Farida Jalal..
