VACAVILLE — Fiesta Days returns to downtown Vacaville for Memorial Day weekend. The annual festival includes a carnival, barbecue, entertainment and parade, to name a few of the activities. New this year is having only two entrances: on School Street and one from Main Street on the bridge.
Security will check all bags at these locations. A new clear bag policy will be utilized. Organizers say the new steps are being taken to reduce security screening interactions and expedite entry to the event.
Guests can carry in blankets and jackets as long as they are readily available for screening at entry. Parental bags are also welcome as long as they are readily available for screening at entry. Exceptions will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection and screening.
Hats and sunscreen are encouraged. Guests may bring a blanket or lawn chair for seating. They should also wear comfortable shoes as there is asphalt, dirt, and grass surfaces and some uneven ground, particularly in the parking lots.
Shirts and shoes are required at all times. Service dogs are permitted. City rules prohibit dogs and other animals from being brought into the festival grounds.
State law says dogs and other animals can't be left in vehicles. Parking is limited in downtown. Look for the shuttle signs for boarding the shuttles to the festival.
The ride is approximately 7 minutes long. Parking spots for those with handicap placards or licenses is also limited. For more information, visit www.
