That high pressure will cause sinking air that takes away our rain chances, while compressing the air above our heads pushes temperatures hotter and hotter.Pattern by the middle of next weekThe result?What does that mean? Right now we're expecting high temperatures to reach the middle 90s by next Tuesday and upper 90s Wednesday and Thursday, which would mean the hottest temperatures of 2025 are on the way. This far out, we can't rule out the first triple digits of the year arriving next week as well.
It's even more likely we have triple digits next week in parts of the Hill Country.Highs over the next weekRecord breaking heat possibleIf we reach the upper 90s next Wednesday (May 14th) and next Thursday (May 15th) we will break and tie the record highs for those dates respectively.The record high on May 14 is 97o from 2022 and the record high on May 15 is 98o from 1925.
