The 2023/24 under-16s squad from Wimborne Town Football Club made this gesture to the Nolando CBM School for the Physically Disabled, where access to sports equipment is limited. This act of kindness has brought hope and joy to the school, which is one of the largest projects sponsored by the charity Meal a Day. The brightly coloured kits, featuring the Wimborne club badge, were received with smiles and excitement.
The children have since worn them to compete in the Kenyan National Para Games in Mombasa. Organised by coaches and parents of the under-16s team, the donation aimed to make a meaningful impact. A team spokesperson said: "It’s about more than football.
"It’s about making a difference in someone else’s life, even in a small way." The donation has inspired pride throughout the community. Photos and videos of the children in their new kits have reached Wimborne, further spreading this inspiration.
The gesture reflects how sport can unite people and how actions off the pitch can be just as meaningful as those on it..
