Sussex is bracing itself for warmer weather and sunnier skies this week as it is gripped by a heatwave. After a week long spell of cooler weather, the "mini heatwave" will be coming to the South of England this week. The Met Office predicts temperatures to average around 21C with the highest being around 24C - the hottest temperatures of 2025 so far.
April 4 was the hottest day of the year so far, with the highest temperature recorded in Wiggonholt, West Sussex, reaching 23.4C. It says: "Feeling very warm at times in the sunshine with light winds with a maximum temperature 24C." Throughout the rest of the week, Met has forecasted dry weather with plenty of sunshine each day, temperatures increasing to become very warm. Generally there will be light winds, although easterly breezes from midweek will be bringing some slightly cooler temperatures to eastern coasts.
Brighton is predicted to hit 23C and above on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday..
