Foreigner nabbed in Bengaluru, crystal meth found hidden in cornflakes in her bag

Bengaluru: The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence arrested a foreigner and seized 4.2kg of crystal methamphetamine valued at Rs 8.5 crore from her.

DRI Bengaluru zonal unit sleuths apprehended the woman near a forested area in Electronics City. They searched her duffel bag and found two packets of cornflakes, concealed within which was 4.2kg of the white crystalline substance.



Upon testing with a field kit, the substance tested positive for the presence of methamphetamine. The narcotic substance was seized and the woman arrested under provisions of NDPS Act 1985 . She was also found to be overstaying in the country, sleuths said.

The drive at Electronics City is part of DRI's efforts to dismantle the illegal inter-state trade network in narcotic substances..
