It seems the world has all but forgotten Gaza, as global attention shifts elsewhere. While Trump’s trade war continues to dominate headlines in the United States and other parts of the West, South Asia is consumed by tensions between India and Pakistan. Meanwhile, confrontations with Iran remain central to the foreign policy agendas of Israel, the Middle East, and the United States, and Ukraine’s war fades into background noise.

Amid this distraction, Israel has intensified its assault on the Palestinian people. The blockade of Gaza has reached an appalling and inhumane stage. Not a single ounce of food, medicine, or aid has been allowed into the besieged Strip for weeks.

The United Nations reports that children in Gaza are going to bed hungry. Paediatricians warn that even the most basic nutritional resources are unavailable. Médecins Sans Frontières describes the situation as catastrophic on every level.

This is not merely a blockade—it is a calculated siege, designed to starve a civilian population into mass death and disappearance, paving the way for the Israeli colonial project to claim Gaza as its own. It is a stain on humanity, one that cannot and will not be washed away. Digital Future This is a tragedy of historic proportions—perhaps unmatched in modern memory.

And yet, the world remains paralysed by its own crises: economic struggles, domestic challenges, and political divisions. But that cannot be an excuse for silence or inaction. The global community must rise, must act—despite hardship, despite fatigue—and stand with Palestine.

If it does not, then we will bear witness to the erasure of a people in real time, and history will remember our failure. Tags: forgotten gaza.
