BA zone champion Xavier College is quietly preparing for the 2025 Coca-Cola Games, which starts on Thursday.Often overlooked in the hype surrounding the major athletics contenders, Xavier College has long been a hidden gem in the secondary school athletics scene.Known for their dominance in the jumps, it’s in the air not on the track where Xavier truly soars.
Team manager Jonelle Muller says this year is all about building for the future.“Xavier College may not always be at the forefront of conversations when it comes to athletics, but those who know, know, we’re a forgotten powerhouse.“This Year’s Vision -Youth and Exposure:2025 has been a year of rebuilding and rediscovery.
The emphasis has shifted from chasing medals to nurturing talent and giving our youngsters exposure on bigger stages. It’s about creating a foundation for future success,” Muller mentioned.Xavier is keeping a low profile this season.
While other schools showcase their top athletes, Xavier believes in quiet confidence.“While other schools showcase their star performers, Xavier is choosing to stay lowkey this season. We have potential.
We have power. But we’re keeping our cards close to our chest. There’s strength in subtlety.
”“It hasn’t been the easiest year. There have been challenges logistical, emotional, and physical. But at Xavier, we are grounded in humility and faith.
We hold firm to the age old adage:”Do your best and leave the rest to God.”Athletes to watch include Ilisabeta Bulivale who is a rising star in the Intermediate Girls Triple Jump. Her technique and timing are showing serious promise.
Also in the mix is Willie Wise who is tall, composed, and fierce this Namosi L is stepping into the spotlight in High Jump and the 400m dash. He’s one to keep an eye on.Simione Kaiwalu who is a strong contender in the Senior Boys High Jump.
