A fixture on the Santa Fe dining scene has changed hands, as Joe’s Dining was sold earlier this month, according to a posting on the restaurant’s website. The eatery at 2801 Rodeo Road has been sold by founders Roland and Sheila Richter to new owner Joaquin Garofalo. The deal became official on April 1, according to the "Didja Know .

com website. The Richters founded the diner in 2002, according to the newsletter, and have operated it since that time. “As you can imagine this is a big milestone in our lives,” they wrote in the website posting announcing the sale.
“Not to get too maudlin, but we already miss Joe’s — the hustle and bustle, the people and the palpable energy. Regarding Joe’s future, we are confident that Joaquin will do what’s best for the neighborhood and for the continuity and stability of the restaurant.” Garofalo declined to speak with The New Mexican about his plans for the restaurant.
