Fox News' Sandra Smith broke down the results of a poll showing Donald Trump's approval rating has sunk to a new low, just days after his 100th day in office.

Sandra Smith of Fox News dissected President Donald Trump 's floundering approval ratings in a Monday segment, following a new poll. As the president crossed his 100th day in office on Tuesday, it appears that public opinion is not in his favor. With the lowest 100-day approval rating for a president over the last eight decades, only 39% of individuals endorse his stewardship of the nation , as reported by a Fox News poll.

Smith broke down multiple areas recording poor approval scores, particularly highlighting concerns about the economy— a key issue Trump pledged to bolster from his first day as president . During her discussion with Fox News contributor Robert Wolf, Smith pointed out: "This is President Trump's job approval rating. On taxes, 38% approve, 53% disapprove.

This is Fox News polling, 38% on the economy approve, 56% disapprove, 33% on inflation – we know this was huge in the election – 59% disapprove." The poll highlighted that President Trump's approval ratings were notably lower than those of Joe Biden (54%), Barack Obama (62%), and George W. Bush (63%).

Shifting the focus, Smith played a video snippet of Scott Bessent , the U.S. Treasury Secretary, reassuring the public that there is a deliberate strategy underpinning Trump's decisions.

Bessent assured: "We've got a three-legged stool here. It's trade, it's tax, it's deregulation. President Trump has come out of the block roaring, and I think this is something new for the American people.

" After the video, Smith questioned Wolf on whether Americans can endure the short-term discomfort to reap long-term economic gains from tariffs. She implied the immediate pains might be too intense, as suggested by tepid poll figures. Wolf responded: "A tariff is a tax on the consumer.

Yes, it brings revenues, but it's not a tax cut to the consumer, so that's just not true." Things are actually– some of the prices are going up, some are going down, this is not actually the immediate, you know, great economy that the president spoke about.

" "Actually, half the economists think we're going into a recession," he also warned. An irate Trump directed his ire at Rupert Murdoch , the founder of Fox News' parent company News Corp., upon seeing the poll results.

He demanded that the pollster who released the unfavorable findings be sacked..
