French restaurant in North Augusta has closed permanently

A French restaurant in North Augusta has closed its doors. Bistro 55 in North Augusta is no-longer in business according to a Facebook post from the owners of the business. "With heavy hearts, we want to share that after two incredible years, we’ve made the difficult decision to close the doors of Bistro 55," the post read.

The post also said the journey has been nothing short of amazing and what started as a dream became a space filled with laughter, long conversations, celebrations and the beautiful energy of community, the post said. "We poured our hearts into every plate, every detail, and every moment — and your support made it all worth it,” the post read. The post said like many businesses, they faced many challenges and even during the hardest times, the loyalty is what kept them going.



The restaurant said the customers became part of the Bistro 55 family. To every person who walked through our doors, thank you. Whether you came once or became a regular, your presence meant the world to us.

We’re incredibly proud of what we built together, the post said. As we close this chapter, we also want to open the door for new possibilities. If anyone out there feels inspired to take over the space and carry the vision forward, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us directly.

There’s so much love and potential in those walls, and we’d be honored to pass it on to someone who feels the same, the post said. Bistro 55 opened in October 2023 and was located at 465 Railroad Ave. in North Augusta.

Bistro 55 was a French fine dinning restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. The restaurant offered dinner and brunch service. The restaurant was owned by Maurice Cohen and it took place of former restaurant Divino Ristorante Italiano which closed May 2023 after being in business for many years.
