Full list of North East teachers and schools shortlisted in Tes Schools Awards 2025

Six nominees will represent the North East when the winners are announced on June 20 in London

There are six North East nominees in the annual Tes Schools awards, which celebrate the best of UK schools. The awards, which are sometimes called the Oscars of education, recognise the best teachers and schools from UK state and independent schools across early years, primary and secondary settings. The shortlist consists of 22 categories, with North East schools nominated in six.

Jon Severs, editor of Tes Magazine, said: "We've seen some incredible entries nominated in this year's awards. The Tes Schools Awards are a highlight of the year, and it's important that we properly recognise the fantastic work that's been done in education across the academic year." Cragside Primary School in Heaton , which has been nominated for excellence in creative arts, posted on Facebook: "Delighted to share the news that Cragside Primary School is a finalist in the TES Schools Award 2025 in the category 'Excellence in Creative Arts'.
