Leicester City legend Gary Lineker is set for an in-depth BBC interview about his life and career. The Match of the Day host will also reflect on his decision to leave the much-loved football show. Gary will sit down with University Challenge host Amol Rajan for the latest in his series, Amol Rajan Interviews.
Leicester legend Gary will discuss a wide range of events from his life, including moments from his footballing career, family and friendship. The 46-minute long interview will also see the former Foxes forward touch upon moments from the 1986 World Cup, as well as what it's like to score a goal that matters. He is set to be replaced by the trio of Kelly Cates, Mark Chapman and Gabby Logan. A BBC spokesperson said: "After more than 40 years in the spotlight, first as a top-flight footballer and then as a TV star, Gary Lineker sits down to reflect on his life on the pitch and off. As he prepares to leave Match of the Day after 25 years, Lineker talks about his experiences on the programme, what happened behind the scenes when he was taken off air, and the reasons why he’s leaving.
