Gary Neville has issued his verdict on Manchester United potentially signing Wolves star Matheus Cunha this summer.As we approach the transfer window, or ‘silly season’ as some call it, Manchester United will be linked with every second player in the market.Ruben Amorim has several issues to address in the team, but it remains to be seen if United’s head coach will have the funds to take the squad to a new level.
The biggest issue facing United is scoring goals as the Red Devils remain over-reliant on Bruno Fernandes to take them out of trouble every week. Rasmus Hojlund has struggled and Joshua Zirkzee is not a goalscorer.While United have problems across the pitch, Amorim needs to add goals to his United team or he may struggle – again – to get results next season.

United are now considered front-runners to sign the Brazilian forward, who has 20 goals and assists for Wolves this season.Cunha’s £62.5m release clause may prove costly, but Wolves are willing to accept it in instalments, which could appeal to the Red Devils.
Now, it is understood that United are advancing with Cunha’s personal terms, in an attempt to seal the transfer once the window reopens.Former United defender Gary Neville believes Cunha is what United need this summer because they are ‘desperate’ for attacking players following a turbulent campaign.Speaking on Sky Sports, the former United captain said: “They’re desperate in that position, he would suit the system.

Unless that changes next season, it will be difficult for United to compete for a place in the top four.The focus for United between now and the end of the season is winning the Europa League as that would secure a place in the Champions League.What’s next for Matheus Cunha?Wolves set a new record last time out when they beat United 1-0 at Old Trafford, after making it five wins in a row.
