Gauhati HC directive to trial courts on seized money in cyber frauds

Staff Reporter The Registrar General of the Gauhati High Court has directed the trial courts not to insist on registration of FIRs in matters that have already been registered online on the National Cybercrime Reporting Portal on and crimes and to dispose of such matters for releasing the frozen and blocked money to the victims on the basis of a police report regarding the authenticity of the money seized and its ownership, along with the action taken report to be filed by the respective cyber police station and investigation officer. In this regard, the Registrar General of the High Court issued guidelines relating to the release of seized money in connection with cyber frauds and cyber crimes. Also Read: Also Watch:.
