The play, a collaboration between the Ghana Fintech and Payments Association, CyberBells Foundation, and Village Minds Production, blends drama and public awareness to address the country’s escalating cybercrime crisis. The initiative comes as Ghana faces mounting losses from digital fraud, with reported cases totaling GHS 59.9 million in 2023.

Written by acclaimed playwright Nii Ayi Solomon and based on a concept by Martin Kwame Awagah, president of the Ghana FinTech and Payments Association, Cyber Heist dramatizes real-world cyber threats such as phishing, fake investment schemes, and insider attacks. The production aims to demystify cybersecurity for general audiences while offering practical safeguards against fraud.Martin Awagah emphasized the play’s dual role as entertainment and advocacy, calling it a “movement” to mobilize Ghanaians against cyber threats.

By translating technical risks into relatable narratives, Cyber Heist seeks to foster vigilance and collective responsibility in protecting the nation’s digital economy. As cybercriminals grow more sophisticated, Ghana’s creative response underscores the power of art in driving social change. The play not only educates but also challenges audiences to become active participants in securing the country’s fintech advancements a reminder that combating cybercrime requires both innovation and public engagement.
