Ghost of Yōtei Slashing to Release on PS5, October 2nd

Now, she’s coming for her vengeance. The Ghost lives. Today, Sucker Punch Productions is happy to announce the release date of their upcoming action-adventure, Ghost of Yōtei.



Releasing on October 2nd, 2025, for the PS5, Ghost of Yōtei follows the story of Atsu, a young woman in the heart of Ezo (called Hokkaido in present day) in Japan. A press release provides more details about the game. Additionally, a new trailer gives players a glimpse of what they can expect from the game.

Ghost of Yōtei follows the story of Atsu. After a gang of outlaws, called the Yōtei Six, slaughters her family and pins her to a tree, Atsu escapes and learns to fight. Wielding the katana that held her to the tree, Atsu has begins her hunt for vengeance.

Now, she has her list: The Snake, The Oni, The Kitsune, The Spider, The Dragon, and Lord Saito. All of them must die. As Atsu, players will need to dole out her justice in whichever way they see fit.

Building upon the basics introduced in Ghost of Tsushima, the game introduces new ways to explore the open world. For instance, players can choose which of the six they will work towards first. Or, they can seek out weapon sensei to learn new skills, even seek out other bounties to make cash and hone their abilities.
