The trade rumors and ideas regarding Giannis Antetokounmpo started following their playoff elimination on Tuesday. The Milwaukee Bucks suffered a 119-118 overtime defeat in Game 5 in the first round of the postseason. Following the loss, many started to question Antetokounmpo's future in Milwaukee.
The Bucks have been eliminated in the first round for the third straight year, the second under head coach Doc Rivers. Without much success in recent seasons, there's a chance Antetokounmpo could force his way out of Milwaukee.Additionally, a few players are expected to be free agents over the summer.
Brook Lopez, Taurean Prince, Gary Trent Jr. and AJ Green are all unrestricted free agents. On top of that, All-Star guard Damian Lillard will be out for at least eight to 12 months due to a left Achilles tendon tear.

According to Hollinger, one option could focus on a deal that would send Antetokounmpo to the Miami Heat.
Milwaukee will receive All-Star Tyler Herro, Jaime Jaquez Jr. and Duncan Robinson."We’ll first pause to consider yet another Lillard injury irony: It could possibly force the Bucks to trade Antetokounmpo for the Tyler Herro-Jaime Jaquez Jr.
-Duncan Robinson package from Miami," Hollinger wrote. With Herro, the Bucks will still have a star player even without the Greek Freak. During the 2024-25 season, the guard who's under a four-year, $120 million contract, became a first-time All-Star.
While he may not be the same player as Antetokounmpo, having a star player like Herro will help the organization plan for its future. Hollinger's suggestion will allow them to add young and valuable players in Jaquez and Robinson.Related: Disturbing Video Emerges of Tyrese Haliburton's Dad's Gesture to Giannis Antetokounmpo.
