Good Morning Britain presenter Susanna Reid waded in on Labour MP Steve Reed as he appeared on the ITV programme to talk about fly-tipping.

Susanna Reid left a Labour MP red-faced after she skewered him on Good Morning Britain. Environment Secretary Steve Reed was quizzed about new measures to clamp down on fly-tippers. Cars and vans used by fly-tippers will be crushed as part of a new campaign to get “much more aggressive” on waste operators.

The crackdown was announced yesterday after an increase in fly-tipping incidents from 957,000 reported in 2018-19 to 1.15 million in 2023-24. It was also revealed that a third of incidents involved waste dumped on roads or pavements.

On Good Morning Britain, Susanna said, "If things aren't being done now, what is the point in what you're suggesting?" She also asked him his thoughts following Sir Tony Blair's warning that Net Zero climate plans are "doomed to fail." This is a breaking live TV story, the Showbiz Express.co.
