‘Govt taking steps for protection of children’

PESHAWAR - The 32nd meeting of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Child Protection and Welfare Commission was held on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Social Welfare, Syed Qasim Ali Shah.

PESHAWAR - The 32nd meeting of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Child Protection and Welfare Commission was held on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Social Welfare, Syed Qasim Ali Shah. The UNICEF representative provided a detailed briefing on the measures taken at the provincial and particularly the district level for child protection and welfare in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. They also shared their action plan regarding ongoing services and future initiatives focused on the care, rights, and protection of children.

Addressing the meeting, the Provincial Minister stated that the current government is taking all necessary steps for the care and protection of children in the province. He emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring that underprivileged and vulnerable children have equal access to education, healthcare, sports, and housing. He added that under the supervision and guidance of Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur, the Department of Social Welfare is achieving its objectives and taking all necessary steps for the welfare of poor and needy children—serving as a strong example of good governance.
