GRIFFIN — With three shootings involving juveniles in Griffin in the last two weeks, Griffin City Manager Jessica O’Connor sent a letter Thursday to fellow citizens asking for their assistance in both the investigations and in keeping neighborhoods safe: Dear citizens, neighbors, and fellow community members, In alignment with our commitment to ensure a safe, well-planned community for all, I am reaching out with a heavy heart and a deep sense of urgency. Recent incidents of gun violence in the Quiet Hills neighborhood have deeply impacted our sense of safety. These tragic events have left behind not only unanswered questions, but also a community in need of healing, unity, and justice.

Your voice, your vigilance, and your partnership are more important than ever, and I am asking for your help. If you witnessed anything, heard anything, or possess any information — no matter how small — it could be vital in protecting the well-being of our families, our neighbors, and our future. This is not solely about solving a crime.

It is about reaffirming our goal to protect and enhance the quality of life for our community. It is about demonstrating that in our community, we do not stand by in silence — we come together in times of need to uplift and protect one another. It is about making sure our streets, our homes, and our families are safe.
