Emraan Hashmi's film Ground Zero, released on April 25, 2025, earned only Rs 7 lakh on its first Monday. Emraan Hashmi’s latest film, Ground Zero, hit theatres on April 25, 2025. Marking his debut as a BSF officer, the action-packed thriller is inspired by real-life events.

The film seems to be losing steam at the box office. After a modest weekend run, the film hit a major slump on its first Monday, earning a mere Rs 7 lakh, according to early estimates. The dip in collections indicates that the action drama has failed to sustain audience interest beyond the opening weekend.

Ground Zero opened to a muted response following its low-key theatrical release and has struggled to pick up pace ever since. The film failed to build strong momentum over the weekend, and its performance further dipped as the weekdays rolled in. On Monday, it faced a steep decline, earning just Rs 7 lakh, according to Sacnilk.

This brings its four-day domestic total to Rs 5.9 crore only. Ground Zero kicked off its box office journey on Friday with a modest Rs 1.

15 crore. The film saw some growth over the weekend, with a 65.22 per cent increase in collections on Saturday, earning Rs 1.

9 crore, followed by a 13.16 per cent rise on Sunday, bringing in Rs 2.15 crore.

However, the film struggled to maintain this upward trend as the weekdays began, with its Monday numbers seeing a significant dip. Ground Zero is grappling with tough competition from two major releases — Sunny Deol’s Jaat and Akshay Kumar’s Kesari 2. To make matters worse, the re-release of the iconic film Andaz Apna Apna, starring Salman Khan and Aamir Khan, has further diverted audience attention.

Andaz Apna Apna has already grossed Rs 1 crore at the box office within just three days of its re-release. Directed by Tejas Prabha Vijay Deoskar, making his Hindi theatrical debut, Ground Zero tells the gripping story of a BSF officer leading an operation against terrorists in the tense aftermath of the 2001 Indian Parliament attack. Alongside Emraan Hashmi, the film features Zoya Hussain and Sai Tamhankar in key roles.

Meanwhile, Emraan Hashmi recently shared a major announcement. The actor is all set to return with Awarapan 2, a sequel to his 2007 hit Awarapan. The film is slated for release on April 3, 2026.

Speaking exclusively to News18 Showsha, Emraan spills the beans on the much-awaited sequel. “July end is when we’ll start the shoot.".
