Alynna Velasquez, the girlfriend of Hajji Alejandro took time to honor the late OPM legend on social media Tuesday. Sharing a precious photo of herself with Hajji, Alynna wrote a heartfelt message to her long-time partner, detailing their last few days together. “My love, we spent the last 8 days of your life together.
I am grateful to your kids Ali and Rachel for reaching out to me. I have been waiting. I think of you every hour of every day,” Alynna began.
She then recalled Hajji’s two-month battle with Stage 4 Metastatic Colon Cancer and how he "refused another trip to the hospital and chose palliative care instead, in the comforts of your home, in the company of people you love." "You knew you were leaving us soon,” Alynna said. “We listened to our favorite songs, and we both had tears in our eyes.
Your precious voice has been impaired because [cancer] had constricted your respiratory system as well. But I felt your love even without words. And despite the pain, restlessness, and hallucinations, you tried to hold my hand.
I whispered in your ear, ‘Go with God. I love you so much. See you in my dreams,’” she added.
“No more pain, love. Just pure bliss with our Heavenly Father.” According to Alynna, Hajji spent his final hours accepting Jesus as his Lord and Savior, and trying to hold on despite his body giving up on him.
“Thank you...
thank you for your love,” she wrote, as she shared today would have been their 27th anniversary. “See you in God's time. I love you eternally,” she said.
Hajji’s death was confirmed through a statement shared by Hajji's manager GR Rodis on Tuesday. He had been battling stage 4 colon cancer since early this year. Alynna, revealed he underwent an operation in February.
Born Angelito Toledo Alejandro, Hajji was a member of the Circus Band and won at the Metro Manila Popular Music Festival with the song " Kay Ganda ng Ating Musika ." Among his other hit songs are "Panakip-butas," "Tag-Araw, Tag-Ulan," and more. A post shared by Alynna Velasquez II (@alynnav) — Jade Veornique Yap/LA, GMA Integrated News.
