Former Bayern Munich player and director of sport, Hasan Salihamidžić handed Leon Goretzka his previous contract. Goretzka came under fire under Thomas Tuchel for his performances in the 23/24 season and found himself increasingly on the bench at the beginning of this season. Yet, Vincent Kompany did not hand too many starts to João Palhinha (seemingly a Goretzka replacement) as the preferred midfield pairing emerged to be Joshua Kimmich and Aleksandar Pavlović.
When Pavlović was injured, Leon Goretzka found himself back in the team. From @iMiaSanMia via @SPORTBILD , when asked if Goretzka should get a new contract, Brazzo mentioned the following: “I’m happy for him that he can show his strength on the pitch and that the midfield, along with Joshua Kimmich, is working so well again. I would really like to see FC Bayern in the remake of the ‘Finale dahoam’ in Munich, and hope to win it this time.
” Unfortunately, the dream of a final in Munich is over; however, Goretzka still might have played well enough to be awarded a new contract.
