Since his knock against MI, Karun`s form has declined in an unexpected way. He was only able to score 65 runs in the last five outings

Former Team India cricketer Aakash Chopra said that Karun Nair has fallen short of making the most out of the second chance cricket has given him.Previously, in 2022, Nair took to X and shared a tweet which read, `Dear cricket, give me one more chance`. Later, during the IPL 2025 match against Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals` Nair played a knock of 89 runs off 40 balls.

His knock included 12 boundaries and five maximums. Despite his heroics, the side suffered a 12-run loss against the `Paltan`.However, since then, his form has declined in an unexpected way.

He was only able to score 65 runs in the last five outings.Recently, Delhi suffered a 14-run loss against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Chopra didn`t hold himself back from highlighting Karun`s below-par performance.

"Karun Nair hasn`t made the most of the second chance that cricket has given him. This was a kind of run chase where the eight overs from Sunil Narine and Varun Chakravarthy had to be negotiated. I think KL Rahul`s run-out was absolutely critical.

After that, it was their last opportunity. When Tristan Stubbs didn`t contribute, it felt like Delhi was going to fall short," Chopra said on JioHotstar. Also Read: CSK vs PBKS, IPL 2025: Where to watch, squads, pitch report, weather, live streaming and more"Delhi Capitals had their chances to seal the deal, but it wasn`t just about Faf du Plessis.

Someone else had to bat alongside him and take the game deep to build pressure. They didn`t start well," added the 47-year-old cricketer-turned-commentator.Later, in the run chase of 205 runs, DC skipper Axar Patel scored 43 runs, but it was not enough to guide his team to victory.

KKR`s Sunil Narine claimed three wickets in his spell of four overs. Shouldering him was Varun Chakravarthy, who managed to pick two wickets. Anukul Roy, Vaibhav Arora and Andre Russell registered one wicket each to their names.

Currently, Delhi is placed in the fourth position with six victories out of the 10 games. The Capitals will play their upcoming IPL 2025 match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on May 5.(With ANI Inputs).
