The HCA has been ordered to remove Mohammed Azharuddin's name from the North Pavilion Stand at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, according to a report in cricbuzz

Former India cricketer Mohammad Azhauddin's name will be removed from the Rajiv Gandhi National Cricket Stadium, according to a report in Cricbuzz. Justice V. Eswaraiah, the Hyderabad Cricket Association's (HCA) ethics officer and Ombudsman, ordered HCA to remove Azhauddin's name from the North Pavilion Stadium.

HCA was also asked not to issue any tickets with the name of Azharuddin. Reportedly, the decision was taken due to a conflict of interest. For the unversed, Azhauddin was the HCA President when the decision was made to rename the North Pavilion Stand at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium from "WS Laxman Pavilion" to Azharuddin's name in 2019.

"The fact that there has been no ratification/modification of the decision by the General Body further strengthens the case against the Respondent No. 1 (Azharuddin), as the Respondent No. 1 has exceeded his authority to benefit himself," said Justice V.
