'Hee Haw' actor, singer dead at 78

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — A comedian and gospel singer who performed at President Ronald Reagan's inauguration has died.Lulu Roman, best known for her different roles on "Hee Haw," died Wednesday, April 23 at 78, according to multiple media outlets. Lulu Roman performs at The Grand Ole Opry on October 22, 2012, in Nashville, Tennessee.

Her national spotlight widened further when she performed at President Ronald Reagan's inauguration in 1980. She was inducted into the Country Gospel Music Hall of Fame in the late 1990s, and was also honored by the Christian Music Hall of Fame, according to the Gospel Music Association.
