Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday intensified his political battle with Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi by raising pointed questions over alleged connections to Pakistan. Posting a series of queries on social media platform X, Himanta asked, “Did you visit Pakistan for a continuous period of 15 days? If so, could you kindly clarify the purpose of your visit?”The Chief Minister further alleged that Gogoi’s wife continued to receive a salary from a Pakistan-based NGO while residing and working in India. He also questioned the citizenship status of Gogoi’s wife and children. “Are they Indian citizens, or do they hold the citizenship of any other country? Many more questions will follow,” Sarma wrote.Although Himanta did not name the Congress leader in his first post, both he and the BJP have been targeting Gaurav Gogoi, the Deputy Leader of Congress in Lok Sabha, over alleged links between Gogoi’s British wife Elizabeth Colburn and Pakistan. The Chief Minister also questioned, “If so, may we ask why a Pakistan-based organisation is paying a salary for activities conducted in India?”⸻Questions for the Hon’ble Member of Parliament from the Congress Party:1.Did you visit Pakistan for a continuous period of 15 days?
