“Yeo and his wife plant vegetables and sell them at the nearby village. With no transport, their sales are limited. On a good and sunny day, they only manage to make RM40.

“Yeo has diabetes, gout, and spine problems. He also had a severe spine injury when he fell from an excavator.“After the accident, Yeo stopped getting involved in construction work altogether.

Now, he is unable to carry heavy loads or do much physical work,” added Hope Place.Yeo’s wife, Trazy, 38, told the NGO that they used to feed their youngest child condensed milk since they could not afford baby formula.“The family is renting a small room, having barely enough to survive on a daily basis.

“Yeo and Trazy are now trying to find better and more stable jobs. With rent, medical bills, and school essentials, the family needs a better income,” said Hope Place. The public can donate to Hope Place’s Maybank account (511289001160) or via its S Pay Global QR code on its Facebook page.
