Church Street in Blackrod was deserted when this photo was taken in 1960. Mind you, it was Christmas Eve. Church Street, Blackrod, 1960 (Picture: Newsquest) On the left is St Katharine’s Church and we’re hoping that Looking Back readers will be able to identify the white building in the centre of the photo which was clearly a pub.

The building has been demolished and is where the Sagar Indian Restaurant now stands. But what was the pub that originally stood there called?.
