City have one final chance to secure safety after Saturday's dismal loss

Saturday's catastrophic 1-0 defeat at home to Derby County left Hull City staring down the barrel of relegation. Despite dominating the game, City conceded with six minutes to go when Nat Phillips headed in a Craig Forsyth free-kick after Alfie Jones was penalised for a rash foul. Ruben Selles' side struggled to create goalscoring chances and were royally punished yet again, as they suffered an all too familiar 1-0 loss.

City now have one game to secure their survival, and they know defeat on the South Coast at Portsmouth will relegate them to League One. Here's a look at the key details..

.. Three points will guarantee safety; it's as simple as that.

If they go to Fratton Park and beat Portsmouth, the Tigers will be safe and relegate one of Luton Town, Preston North End, Derby County or Stoke City. Defeat at Fratton Park and City are relegated to League One, joining Cardiff City who were sent down on Saturday. Plymouth Argyle are all but down because of their vastly inferior goal difference.

A point would be enough to secure survival if one of Luton or Preston were to be beaten because of the Tigers' better goal difference. City could also relegate Derby with a victory, but that would need the Rams to lose by a couple, given the goal differences between City and Derby stand at -10 and -8 respectively. City could not afford to be level on points and goal difference with the Rams, as the East Midlands side would stay up on goals scored.

Derby County host Stoke City while Preston North End go to play-off-chasing Bristol City and Luton Town go to West Brom. Not that it matters in reality but Argyle take on Leeds United at Home Park and already relegated Cardiff go to Norwich City. How are you feeling about the final weekend?
