A Hull businessman and long-time supporter of Dove House Hospice has returned to the seat of his vintage tractor to drive up funds for the cause. Mike Abram, of Spear Services, in Littlefair Road, east Hull, geared himself up for another heartfelt challenge in support of the hospice that provides vital care to families across Hull and the East Riding. Following the success of his 2021 fundraising effort - it saw him raise over £8,000 for the hospice - Mike is back behind the wheel of his cherished 1954 Fordson Major tractor for his latest endeavour.

The “Hundred for a Hundred” tractor run challenge has been running throughout April. Mike is in the final stages of completing 100 laps of Littlefair Road, on his tractor, hoping that supporters will add £1 to the pot for each one he completes. Dove House has said that, once again, Mike, who is in his 80s, is demonstrating his unwavering dedication to the cause.

Amelia Cundill, fundraising assistant at Dove House, said: “Mike’s passion and commitment are a true testament to the spirit of community. “Dove House Hospice is deeply grateful for his continued support. Let’s help Mike make his hundred laps count—every donation makes a difference.

It's down the road where his business is, so basically he's just got to go up and down the road on his tractor. "Obviously, it's a really old tractor.

He's had it nearly all his life.” Dove House has long benefited from the generosity of supporters like Mike, and his latest challenge is a call to the business community and public alike to come together in support of this invaluable local service. While Mike is encouraging donations of £100 in recognition of his 100-lap goal, contributions of any size are warmly welcomed.
