HANOVER TWP. — Anne Carter picked up the 300th strikeout of her career, and Abby Williams drove in four to lead Holy Redeemer to the WVC Division 2 softball victory, 14-7, at Hanover Area on Tuesday . Carter struck out 11 in the complete-game seven-hitter.
Williams was 4 for 4 with two doubles and four RBIs. Leadoff hitter Zoe Pecuch also added four RBIs in her 2-for-4 outing, and Mary Lombardi had three hits. Madison Ponko and Hannah Seine combined for four hits and five RBIs for Hanover Area.
Wyoming Area 15, Nanticoke Area 3 (6 inn.): At Nanticoke Area, Wyoming Area had 12 hits as the Warriors picked up the WVC Division 2 victory in six innings . Alexa Gasek had a home run and three RBIs, and Allison Layland was 3 for 5 with two doubles and three RBIs.
Addison Gaylord was 3 for 3 with a home run, two RBIs and five runs. Alyvia Schneider and Juliana Percival each had doubles for the Trojanettes. Lake-Lehman 17, MMI Prep 0 (3 inn.
), Lake-Lehman 17, MMI Prep 0 (3 inn.): At MMI Prep, Lake-Lehman picked up two WVC Division 2 wins Tuesday, sweeping the Preppers . In the first game, Kirsten Finarelli extended her hitting streak to 13, and Hannah Chipego struck out nine in the three-inning victory.
Chipego was also 2 for 2 with a triple, home run and three RBIs. Hayley Wallace knocked in two runs, and Gracie James added an RBI. Finarelli was 1 for 1 with three runs.
In the nightcap, Finarelli added two more hits, and Chipego hit another home run. Haylee Makarewicz drove in three on a double and home run, and Kaitlyn Brudnicki was 2 for 2 with a triple and an RBI. Chipego struck out another nine batters in the win.
Wilkes-Barre Area 11, Wyoming Valley West 0 (5 inn.): At Valley West, Hope Burke was 3 for 3 with three RBIs to lead Wilkes-Barre Area past the Spartans in WVC Division 1 softball . Alivia Mazurek and Grace Simko each had two RBIs, and Caitlyn Sekelsky added a home run.
Jordan Prushinski scattered six hits over five innings with five strikeouts in the victory. Boys track and field Lake-Lehman 77, Tunkhannock 69: At Edward Edwards Stadium, the Black Knights won 11 events to pull away from Tunkhannock. Bodhi Cronin won the triple jump (43-9) and 400 (51.

Girls lacrosse Abington Heights 19, Crestwood 8: At Clarks Summit, Morgan Davis couldn’t be stopped Tuesday night. The Abington Heights Comet scored 10 goals in a win over Crestwood in a Wyoming Valley Conference girls lacrosse battle. Allie Rothenberger added a hat trick, and Sadie Gilbert had two goals and three assists.
Hannah Ziegler and Jackie Gallagher each scored three times for the Comets. Dallas 20, Wilkes-Barre Area 1: At Dallas, Ella English and Leah Ricardo each scored five times in the Mountaineer victory. Alanna Acuff added four goals, and Sarah Snowdon finished with two.
