HS ROUNDUP: Underwood wins three events, WBA sweeps in track

PLAINS TWP. — Da’Von Underwood won three events to lead Wilkes-Barre Area past Berwick, 98-52, in Wyoming Valley Conference boys track and field Monday at Wolfpack Stadium. Underwood won the high jump (5-10), long jump (21-3) and triple jump (42-11), and Ben Delgado won the 1,600 (5:03) and 3,200 (11:34).

For Berwick, Elijah Henry won the shot put (42-8) and discus (107-6). Girls track and field Wilkes-Barre Area 89, Berwick 59: At Wolfpack Stadium, Jaida Underwood won three events, and the Wolfpack got the WVC victory. Underwood was best in the high jump (5-2), 100 (13.



2) and long jump (16-3), and Angelena Mendola won the 300 hurdles (53.4) and javelin (95-1). Softball Pittston Area 13, Holy Redeemer 3: At Casey Field, Pittston Area racked up 12 hits, and the Patriots scored six runs in the first to pick up the nonleague win .
