Bengaluru: The revaluation result of the II PUC examination-1 was announced on Friday. Deeksha, a student of Vagdevi PU college in Thirthahalli, has emerged as topper in science stream by securing 600 out of 600 marks..
When the fresh results were announced early this month, the first position in science stream was shared by Deeksha and Amulya Kamath, from Expert PU College in Mangaluru, with both securing 599/600 marks..Deeksha had secured 100 in all subjects except Chemistry.
She applied for revaluation and managed to get 100 even in that subject..Meanwhile, in Commerce stream, Prateeksha of ASC PU College in Rajajinagar (Bengaluru) has bagged top position, from earlier third position, after the revaluation.
.Karnataka: Medical seats to two students involved in NEET paper leak scam cancelled. However, she now shares the first position with S Deepashree of Canara College (Mangaluru) by securing 599/600 marks.
.Prateeksha had earlier secured 597 and in revaluation she got two more marks in English subject..
As per the data released by the Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board (KSEAB), a total of 5,800 students had applied for revaluation. While some have got additional marks, there are others who got negative marks too. As many as 1,470 applications have not witnessed any changes in the marks.
.The data has revealed the blunders made by teachers during the evaluation. In one case, a student who was awarded 04 in a first language subject in the original evaluation, has secured 64 in revaluation and the difference of marks is 60!.
‘Glad she got 600 marks’.There are cases where students managed to get 50, 44, 30, 20 in the revaluation and increase their performance..
Speaking to DH, Raghavendra Kalkura, father of Deeksha, said, “We had applied for the scanned copy (photocopy) of the answer-script to see where she had lost one mark.”.Kalkura is serving as teacher in government high school at Megaravalli in Thirthahalli taluk.
His wife and Deeksha’s mother Usha is also a teacher..“Out of six questions, (four carrying 5 marks each and two 4 marks), the students had to answer four questions.
But Deeksha answered all the six. The evaluator should have considered only the questions carrying five marks each. However, three questions of five marks and one question of four marks were considered during the evaluation.
So, Deeksha got 99 out of 100 in Chemistry. The one mark was given to her during the reevaluation. I don’t blame lecturers in this regard and such things do happen during the evaluation.
I am glad that she got 600 marks.”.
