ILM Shipping Services (Pvt) Ltd has strengthened its Internal Transfer Vehicle (ITV) operations at the Hambantota Port with the addition of a new fleet of prime movers. The handover ceremony was held at HIPG’s premises, where Hadley Rodrigo, Chairman of ILM Holdings (Pvt) Ltd, officially handed over the vehicles to Danushka Pinto, Assistant General Manager of HIPG. Speaking at the event, Danushka Pinto praised ILM Shipping’s initiative, noting that integrating the new fleet into HIPG’s ITV operations will significantly enhance terminal productivity.

Hadley Rodrigo, Group CEO of ILM Holdings, expressed pride in partnering with HIPG for ITV operations and reaffirmed ILM Shipping’s commitment to expanding the fleet as required. He described the development as a significant step forward for HIPG’s container operations and a reinforcement of its strategic role in the regional maritime industry. Tressel Silva, CEO of ILM Shipping Services, extended his gratitude to HIPG’s management for their continued collaboration at the Hambantota Terminal.



He emphasized that the deployment of experienced drivers, along with the new fleet, is expected to greatly improve terminal efficiency. He also highlighted the notable increase in vessel calls and projected a substantial rise in container volumes, underscoring ILM Shipping’s commitment to supporting HIPG’s growth.
