Louis Saha has detailed why Cristiano Ronaldo is the greatest-ever soccer star, describing his former Manchester United team-mate as a "robot"

Louis Saha has hailed Cristiano Ronaldo as the ultimate "robot" and the greatest soccer player of all time . The ex- Manchester United striker, who bagged two Premier League titles, a Champions League trophy, and more with the Red Devils, netted 28 times in his 86 appearances. Saha also turned out for other top-flight English teams such as Newcastle United, Fulham, Everton, and Tottenham Hotspur over the course of his career.

He spent four seasons at United with a youthful Ronaldo , who had caught Sir Alex Ferguson's eye while at Sporting CP. Ronaldo's initial spell at United was decorated with three Premier League crowns and a Champions League, yet it was at Real Madrid where he truly amassed his glittering array of silverware. Now with a career that spans over twenty years, Ronaldo boasts an impressive collection including four Champions Leagues, two Serie A titles, two La Ligas, numerous domestic cups, and even a European Championship with Portugal.

Despite his growing list of achievements, the debate continues to burn as to if he will go down in history as the greatest soccer player of all time, or if Lionel Messi will take the crown, reports the Mirror . Some argue Messi's 2022 World Cup triumph catapulted him ahead of the Al-Nassr sensation, but Saha stands firm in his conviction. Speaking to Genting Casino, he claimed that Ronaldo is the "best version" of a soccer star that one could imagine.

He said: "I think, yes, it's for me the one that I always said that he's the most complete player. In that regard, it's someone that can do everything on the field. "Physically and football, IQ combined and all this, yes, as a player.

As a player, he is the best version of a football player if you want to start any game at any level. "But if you want to have a bit different style because you have a team of other, talented players, you can maybe look at others. But as a machine, as a robot, he is the closest version.

" In his recent endeavours, Ronaldo has been making waves in the Saudi Pro League where he's a stone's throw away from an epic milestone - just 67 goals shy of a staggering 1,000 career goals. He clinched the Arab Club Champions Cup with his team in 2023 but is yet to score a trophy this season. Meanwhile, Messi is soaking up the sun in Florida, showing off his formidable skills for David Beckham’s Inter Miami .

He's already left his mark by seizing the Leagues Cup in 2023 and winning the Supporters' Shield in 2024. Add that to his 12 league titles, 15 domestic cups, four Champions Leagues and eight Ballon d'Ors spanning his time with Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain, and it's no surprise why many others consider Messi to by the GOAT..
